The presentation will be put on by volunteer steering committee members and local technology leaders Dan Stolts of Bay State Integrated Technology, Inc. (www.BayStateTechnology.com) located in Lakeville, MA and George Perrine of Durasys Corporation (www.durasys.com) located in Dover NH.  The event will be held at Microsoft's facility in Waltham MA - 6th Floor MPR-A on Saturday April 9th (Directions). There will be a nominal fee of $30.00* to help cover costs.  All proceeds go to the Boston Area Windows Server User Group to help them bring more to the local technology community. Registration information at the bottom of this notice.

The first half of the training will have be a lecture style meeting were we will discuss viruses, trojans, spyware, malware, etc.  We will cover all areas of malware and the like from prevention to eradication. We will also discuss how to know when it would be better to bite the bullet and reformat!  In this session we will talk about where to go in different OS's to do cleanup. We will evaluate many tools on the market, demo these tools and let you know which tools to use and how to use them. At the end of the training you will be given a toolkit (CD) containing everything covered in the presentation. We will include links to download products that will not let us package it for you, everything else will be included on the CD. Primary focus for this training will be on Windows XP Professional w/SP2 but Win2K, and WinXP (no SP and SP1) will also be addressed to some extent.

The second half of the meeting will be split into two tracks.

Track 1: Hands on Lab Instructor George Perrine - Maximum Capacity 36
This will be a hands on lab were people can bring in machines to clean with the assistance of the instructor and other technology professionals. We may be able to supply the bugs if you sign a waiver of responsibility. No guarantees we can get all the bugs out without reformatting.
