Boston Windows Server
User Group Loadfest #001
held on Saturday, October
18, 2003
Event managed by steering committee member, Kent Smith
Local Microsoft facilities coordination by Kristin Fulciniti
The Loadfest event was almost instantly filled to
capacity by 65 registered attendees
with still other members on a waitlist that could not be fully
accommodated.
This event helped to reduce the typical
"intimidation factor" found when deploying
any sort of new server platform.
Out of 65 members, two who purchased brand new servers ran
into hardware
infant mortality problems. Steering committee member
George Perrine of
Durasys (left)
came to the rescue
by loaning a member one of his servers.
One of two large rooms used for hands-on labs.
Each lab room had a resident mentor, in this case, Dan Stolts with
assistance from Bob Chin.
A separate room was used for the lecture segments .
This provided time for a stretch and a refreshing change of venue during
the long day.
The smaller of two lab rooms.
Lee Benjamin (last row, right side) was the resident mentor in this location.
Microsoft provided five-star certified trainer Mike Foti
to prep students on the fundamentals of Windows Server 2003.
Mike was operating well within his domain of expertise
and members appreciated the direct access to this excellent instructor !
