Your Steering Committee

These are the folks who do the heavy lifting to keep our user group moving forward. Each person represents a specific segment of the IT Pro community ranging from large corporations to independent VAR's and consultants.

Clyde Johnson, President

Clyde started out as an electronics technician and became SAD (Systems Administrator by Default) in January of 1996. Since then he has performed many different roles in IT. He is currently working as a Senior Network and Systems Administrator for a manufacturing firm in New Bedford, MA.

He holds the MCSE, MCSA and A+ certifications and has taught A+ certification classes at Newbury College. He also holds a Bachelor of Fluencing from the Unseen University, Ankh-Morpork.

Clyde coordinates future topics and speakers.
Gene Laisne, Vice President

Gene started a career in computers when he realized he was spending more time reading his Que DOS 6.22 book in the halls of Berklee than going to class. He has worked in the Help Center, taught computer classes, managed computer labs and tries to automate anything that doesn't have a pulse.

He has a BS in Computer Science and works for a major University in the Boston area as a Senior Systems Engineer.

He enjoys a good scripting chalenge so don't hesitate to ask him for assistance.
Tim Callaghan, Webmaster

Tim is currently the Vice President of Engineering at Tokutek (www.tokutek.com). His past experience includes Field Engineering and Product Management at VoltDB (www.voltdb.com) and CTO and Vice President of Technology & Development at CrunchTime! Information Systems (www.crunchtime.com).

His primary focus is in database design, development and implementation, although he is involved in all areas of development, technology, and infrastructure.
Chris O'Connell, Vendor Relations

Chris O'Connell is the IT Director for the New England Province of Jesuits. He possess a Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University in Management Information Systems. In the past two years Chris has obtained his MCITP Server Administrator on Windows Server 2008 and MCTS for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.

Chris is well versed in intrusion detection technology and systems auditing. He is currently a consultant for Elite Security Auditors (www.EliteSecurityAuditors.com) which specializes in network documentation, security best practices, vulnerability testing, developing written information security policies and penetration testing.
Maisy Wong, Treasurer

Maisy is the IT director for the Registry of Vital Records and Statistics. It is one of the agencies for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Prior to the state employment, Maisy worked for Hewlett-Packard Company, Compaq Computer Corporation and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Lee Benjamin, Exchange / GITCA Liaison

With over 20 years experience in the messaging industry, Lee Benjamin is an expert on Microsoft Exchange and related technologies, and has in-depth experience in a number of other messaging systems. Since retiring from Microsoft in 1997, he has been a highly sought after consultant (www.exchangeguy.com) for enterprise and medium-sized organizations and software firms. He currently specializes in architecture, migration and upgrade advice. He also evaluates and does product testing and training.

Lee is Chairman of the largest Exchange user group in the world ExchangeServerBoston (www.exchangeserverboston.com), Vice President for BostonUserGroups (www.bostonusergroups.org), an umbrella organization of over 50 user groups in the New England Area, and Director/Secretary for GITCA (www.gitca.org), a world-wide association of over 700 user groups representing 3.7 million IT Professionals.

Lee is a regular speaker at industry seminars, webinars, and conferences including TechEd, Exchange Connections, and TechTarget custom events, on topics such as messaging, data protection, compliance and eDiscovery, messaging security, mobile access and calendaring integration.
Dan Stolts, Microsoft Liaison

Dan has had a long involvement in the user group community and is President of BayState Technology (www.baystatetechnology.com) which specializes in IT system integration for the small and medium sized business markets.

Dan is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) which is a hard-earned and well respected certification within the general business community.

Dan is also president of Boston User Groups (www.bostonusergroups.org).
John J. Ross, Special Projects

Partner of Bluefin Technical Services. Tool and Manufaturing Engineer. Specializing in compression and transfer Mold Systems, Power Press Systems, robotic automation and material handling work cells, automatic assembly equipment, and custom tools.

Bluefin Technical Services are Microsoft System Builders, Networks and Core infrastructure. John is a board member of Boston User Groups, and of Virt-G User Group.
Ron Thibeau, Special Projects

Senior Partner of Bluefin Technical Services. Designers of manufacturing equipment, robotic automation work cells, and of systems for High Current Aerospace Power connectors.

Bluefin Technical Services are Microsoft System Builders, Networks and Core infrastructure. Ron is a board member of Boston User Groups, and of Virt-G User Group.
